KwickCards For parents

Screen Time

Screen Time

Digital parenting

Consuming

  • Hours of scrolling
  • Short video feeds

Creating

  • Writing a Python program
  • Live class or project

Parents are often told to reduce screen time, but the advice misses an important detail.

A child building a Python program, completing a project or attending a live class is using a screen productively. A child scrolling for hours is not.

Rather than counting minutes alone, talk with your child about what the screen time is for. When children learn to build things with technology, they begin to see devices differently.

The goal is not a screen-free childhood, but a thoughtful one, where your child learns to use technology to build, learn and create.

If this helped, share it with another parent in your circle.
