NIOS vs CBSE for Computer Science
CBSE Computer Science (083) teaches Python and is assessed 70 theory plus 30 practical on a fixed annual schedule. NIOS Computer Science (330) is built around C++ and is assessed with a theory paper plus a compulsory practical you must clear separately, with far more flexibility over when you sit exams. NIOS suits students who need that flexibility; CBSE suits those in a regular school routine.
Both are recognised national boards
Start here, because it is the question behind the question. NIOS is a recognised national board. Its senior secondary certificate is accepted for higher education in the same way, and the fear that it closes doors is generally misplaced.

The language difference is the big one
This surprises families. CBSE teaches Python; NIOS 330 is built around C++, and the C++ module carries the largest weightage in the course. A student moving between the two is changing language, not just board.
The logic transfers completely. The syntax does not, and C++ is less forgiving of small mistakes than Python.
You must clear theory and practical separately
In NIOS, passing one cannot cover the other. The practical is mandatory and is held at your Accredited Institution, where you write and run programs. Students who plan only for the theory paper get caught by this.
Do not forget the TMAs

Who each route suits
